My Baby's Profession!

So when the child is born  every member of the family has some expectations from her. I am sure my Parents, wife et al has something or the other in their mind. But here i am just going to talk about my expectation.

Every time i think about what i would like to see her as, it reminds me of the scene from '3 Idots' where Farhan's dad says he will be an engineer when he was born & Farhan keeps sulking will his college life. :) but this does not discourage me from dreaming.

So to start of with I want her to become a business women. i keep planning how do i make it possible. I would want her to read the financials daily, (oh btw, this is when she just starts reading ;)). Then i will tell her to think of business ideas. once she picks something i will teach her all market analysis & make a business plan. And ofcorse this will not just be a one time activity.

All my thoughts were subjected to realism when i was reading an article which referred  to life of Mr. BK Birla. Well he successfully ran then India's largest mill 'Kesoram' at the age of 19.

:) Every parent want to think their child is a prodigy!

Today when for the fist time i made her listen to some music from Dire Straits, Green Day, Pink Floyd & MJ, she stared throwing her arms and legs in the air. I imagined her as a guitarist wearing leather pants and performing live!!
Well thats how parent are may be.. Then when i look at Vaanya, i know its a long way to go. Shes just 47 days old!

Heart within she can take up whatever she wants but i would atleast like to inculcate her into reading.....

First Stars win then Numerology & my daughter's name change

With the amount of confidence that I had written my last blog, numerology beat me hands down. It's not that I am an ardent follower of these things but you want to possibly want to eliminate all chances of possible folly, just for your own child.
This feeling for someone, I am experiencing for the first time in my life. So much so that it reflects in the face that I have started writing blogs which I was avoiding for all my life coz I never considered myself to be a writer enough. With this blog I don't care I am just speaking my mind And experience in the simplest possible form.
So coming back to my baby, I have a colleague in office with knowledge in numerology which I did not know. Between one of the meetings on Friday he casually asked what did I name my child I said Veda. After doing some calculation he said it sums up to 14. What's that? According to him every name has some attributes associated which defines the persons life. 14 is the fallen crown of the king. Meaning a jerky life with continual ups and downs.
He said try to avoid this. Names that amount up to 23, 15 & 19 are suppose to be best. I gave him other options we had in our radar. With some calculations agin he came up with Vrusha and Vaanya being the best ones.
Well why avoid a good suggestion.
So in the naming ceremony yesterday with my cousins and bua I suggested Vaanya. Rupal wouldn't object coz she loved it so will Gaurav. He was the one to suggest it. The name did meet some resistance with my uncle. He said it sounds like Vania a cast within our gujrati community. He saw my inclination towards the name and finally said 'ya sounds good :)' well we had thought of this before but we defeated the possibility of anyone mispronouncing it. We live in the educated society now everyone know how to pronounce it without the gujju ascent. Gaurav could be one of the teaser but would not since he had suggested it.
Next day morning one of my friends in the building asked what name have you decided? I proudly answered Vaanya
'Vania!' he exclaimed and stared blank at me!

The wee feet named Veda

Now keeping name of the child is a very big deal! Not only its auspicious and holy, I also considered how she be teased in school with any name that we kept. Total due diligence on that. Talking of this my bro Gaurav is super particular
So the letters we had for options were b, v & u. Thinking of keeping a different name my friends and folks came up with name from varied ethnicity, thank them for that coz I knew we had to choose from so much that I need not do any research myself.
Name that my wife was stuck on was Vaanya so did my bro. He kept on saying it has to go well with the last name. How did Vanya go well? For me Veda it was, liked it the moment It was given as an option. Rupal & Gaurav dosnt seem to keen though.
Anyways 27th sept it will be officially declared by my bua. And I k is what will it be

First week

This was fun! A week passed by in a blink.. We got Radha home on Monday 10/9/12. Thereafter the whole family has been just dancing around her. The biggest tension I had was that she would keep us awake all night & how would I make it to office the following day.
I can in terms with my fear, but fortunately only for 2-3 days. Luckily my mom in law was staying with us & she took care of the rest. Ofcourse Rupal had to stay up too. After 3 days Radha changed her timings, she would sleep at 1-2 and wake up by 730. This is the time even u wake up normally.
There is a huge support system at home which I know in future will give us enough time and space to concentrate on professional lives.

First day in this world

I will start my blog with Cute little Angle coming in this world.
The way Rupal was is pain everyone of us standing outside the labour room was petrified. Suddenly after some silence there comes my Angle at 3:09 am on 9/9/12, I call her Radha
My love was redefined!
With her big eyes she started staring at us and space. She smiled too...
I read and heard about lot of feeling that a 'just' become father goes through. But for me I just couldn't stop smiling too
