First Stars win then Numerology & my daughter's name change

With the amount of confidence that I had written my last blog, numerology beat me hands down. It's not that I am an ardent follower of these things but you want to possibly want to eliminate all chances of possible folly, just for your own child.
This feeling for someone, I am experiencing for the first time in my life. So much so that it reflects in the face that I have started writing blogs which I was avoiding for all my life coz I never considered myself to be a writer enough. With this blog I don't care I am just speaking my mind And experience in the simplest possible form.
So coming back to my baby, I have a colleague in office with knowledge in numerology which I did not know. Between one of the meetings on Friday he casually asked what did I name my child I said Veda. After doing some calculation he said it sums up to 14. What's that? According to him every name has some attributes associated which defines the persons life. 14 is the fallen crown of the king. Meaning a jerky life with continual ups and downs.
He said try to avoid this. Names that amount up to 23, 15 & 19 are suppose to be best. I gave him other options we had in our radar. With some calculations agin he came up with Vrusha and Vaanya being the best ones.
Well why avoid a good suggestion.
So in the naming ceremony yesterday with my cousins and bua I suggested Vaanya. Rupal wouldn't object coz she loved it so will Gaurav. He was the one to suggest it. The name did meet some resistance with my uncle. He said it sounds like Vania a cast within our gujrati community. He saw my inclination towards the name and finally said 'ya sounds good :)' well we had thought of this before but we defeated the possibility of anyone mispronouncing it. We live in the educated society now everyone know how to pronounce it without the gujju ascent. Gaurav could be one of the teaser but would not since he had suggested it.
Next day morning one of my friends in the building asked what name have you decided? I proudly answered Vaanya
'Vania!' he exclaimed and stared blank at me!
